Beit Midrash
Beit Midrash Program is a one-year immersive learning program for Orthodox women and men who are exploring rabbinic ordination. The program is run by Yeshivat Maharat and Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.

Who should apply to the Beit Midrash Program? Beit Midrash Program students:
have familiarity and some experience learning Jewish texts
have at least an advanced-beginner level of Hebrew
be engaged in Jewish communal life
find personal meaning in living halakhically (according to Jewish law)
be excited about having an immersive Torah learning experience
be open to, curious about, or interested in the possibility of pursuing rabbinic education and a rabbinic career in the future
How do I apply to the Beit Midrash Program?
Email Dr. Katie Light Soloway, Director of Recruitment and Admissions, to schedule an admissions conversation. This conversation is crucial for determining if the program is a good fit.
Written application. The link for the written application will be sent to you following the admissions conversation. It includes the following sections about your educational background, personal history, personal statement, and reference information.
Learning Skills Assessment. Meet with a Beit Midrash Program to assess your Hebrew reading and translation skills, understanding of basic concepts and structures in Talmud, and capacity for learning advancement.
Admissions Interview. Prospective students meet with Beit Midrash program administrators for a formal interview.
